As the managing director of Lutz & Associates and having established Lutz & Associates in 1997, Steve has a wealth of experience gained from senior positions in international accounting firms, Price Waterhouse and Ernst & Young, both locally and overseas.

After returning from overseas secondments, Steve was asked to head-up the Business Services Division of Ernst & Young, Gold Coast, which he acquired in 1997, to create: Lutz & Associates.

Steve displays an ethical and fair approach focusing on delivering the highest level of quality service to our clients at all times. His skills encompass a wide-range of financial, business and taxation facets and our clients sleep well at night, knowing Steve is looking after their affairs.

Steve dedicated many years as honorary judge in "The John Heine Challenge", an MBA Business competition and attended the world finals "Moot Corp Competition", as Australian judge, a number of times, in Texas, USA.

When not focussing on firm matters, you can find Steve expanding his knowledge as a wine connoisseur and playing the guitar.

Steven Poon

Steven commenced with Lutz & Associates in May 2004 after having had extensive experience both within and outside the accounting profession.

A colleague of Steven Lutz's from way back, "Poony" heads-up the firm's self-managed superannuation division, as well as attending to the accounting, taxation and financial management affairs of clients in various industries.

Steven also plays a major role in mentoring junior staff and involving them in client affairs, so they develop their own abilities and gain a greater insight into how we can help our clients more.

Our clients who deal with Steven know they can reach him any time and value his contribution when discussing their affairs, whether it be business-related or personal. They know he will offer the best advice to them because he puts himself in their shoes.

Outside of work, Steven is ecstatic about walking his dog, likes all codes of football, loves the Brisbane Broncos (to the utter despair of Al, our taxation manager) and frequently goes on about the bias of New South Wales Origin referees (disturbingly so, in most cases).

Alan Gill

Alan initially joined Lutz and Associates in 1998 and rejoined in 2003, after spending 3 years in London working for large commercial organisations (i.e. Price Waterhouse Coopers and the UK National Health Service).

Alan became the Senior Taxation Manager of Lutz and Associates after completing a Masters of Taxation from the University of New South Wales in 2008, where he received an award for academic excellence.

A significant focus of Alan's is to address the various taxation matters that arise for clients of the firm, including: taxation of trusts; Capital Gains Tax, GST, corporate taxation; international taxation and negotiations with the Australian Taxation Office. He also consults on complex taxation matters to legal practices and other accountancy firms.

Whilst taxation is a significant focus area for Alan, his expertise extends to general business and financial control matters for smaller and medium sized entities (SMEs) as well as organisations at public company and large proprietary company level.

The rapport Alan has with his clients is such that they often ask his advice about more than just taxation and accounting matters and he is always looking for the best solution in any particular circumstance.

Outside of work, Alan is an avid surfer and enjoys playing golf (for which he has a single figure handicap).

Jodie McEwan

Specialisations: Taxation, Accounting & Business Advisory for multiple industries

Jodie joined Lutz & Associates in August 2010, after moving interstate and deals with all aspects of various clients' accounting, taxation and business advisory affairs.

She also provides input into staff training and development, to ensure that staff is up-to-date on all matters in the ever-changing world of taxation and business matters.

Jodie has built strong relationships with her clients and enjoys a good rapport, which allows them to trust her when advising them on their overall affairs. The diversity in her clients' affairs is something that Jodie also enjoys, as well as finding solutions to the issues her clients raise.

Jodie enjoys the opportunity the firm provides in allowing her to develop her skills further and increasing liaison with clients, as well as playing an important role with the development of junior staff.

In her spare time, Jodie enjoys scuba diving, and her involvement in the Gold Coast chapter of Sea Shepherd.

Marie Kim

Supervisor

Specialisations: Accounting and taxation affairs for the Finance, Investment & Retail industries, Mentoring junior staff

Marie joined our firm in July 2006 as a graduate accountant and has developed into a Supervisor, dealing with various clients directly, in relation to their taxation, accounting and general business affairs.

She also plays an important role in mentoring junior staff, ensuring that clients are aware of statutory deadlines and compliance issues and liaising with our management team regarding complex transactions that clients may be contemplating.

Many of our clients know Marie, respect her knowledge and the fact that she is always looking to resolve any issues they may be facing.

Marie also speaks fluent Korean and can often bring a different perspective to things.

Outside of work, Marie enjoys hanging out with friends, playing her piano, reading, watching movies and cheering for Roger Federer!

Susanna Feng

Accountant

Specialisations: Dealing with the taxation and accounting affairs of clients and superannuation fund administration

Susanna is an accountant with over five years experience in public practice and joined Lutz & Associates in February 2013, so she could increase her expertise and knowledge.

In addition to public practice experience, Susanna has also had experience in management rights businesses.

Susanna ensures all necessary taxation and accounting issues are dealt-with, including superannuation administration affairs.

Increasing liaison with clients and the opportunity to further develop her skills are factors that Susanna enjoys about the firm.

Susanna also speaks fluent Mandarin.

In her spare time, Susanna loves to travel with family and close friends, as well as going to the beach and spending as much time with her children.

Icy Qin

Specialisations: Dealing with the taxation and accounting affairs of clients in various industries

Icy is an accountant with over three years experience in public practice and joined Lutz & Associates in September 2014, so she could increase her expertise and knowledge.

In addition to public practice experience, Icy has also had experience in supply chain industries.

Icy plays an important role in providing support to other senior members of our team, in liaising with clients regarding their business affairs and ensuring all necessary taxation and accounting issues are dealt-with.

Her work ethic is such that she is always looking to help our clients and is always willing to increase her knowledge to achieve the best result for our clients.

Continually increasing her skills and expertise is important to Icy, as she knows the ultimate beneficiary of this will be our clients.

Icy is also fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.

In her spare time, Icy enjoys catching up with friends and family, music, movies and diving.

She's also currently preparing for her advanced snooker diving certificate!

Natasha Scott

Graduate Accountant

Specialisations: Dealing with the taxation and accounting affairs of clients in many different industries

Natasha moved from a national accounting firm to our firm in July 2013, looking to expand her knowledge and increase her development by dealing with the taxation and accounting affairs of clients in varying industries.

Natasha provides critical support for other senior members of our team and can be relied upon to get stuck into the task, whether it be liaising with clients and other third parties regarding specific taxation matters or asking an insightful question regarding a client's business affairs.

Her work ethic and honesty is a trait that shows in her day-to-day role as she is always looking to not only meet, but exceed our clients' expectations.

Not only having the opportunity to deal with clients in various industries but also the opportunity to progress and develop in terms of offering advice in relation to more complex taxation matters, as well as business advisory matters, is important to Natasha, as this helps our clients achieve more of what they want.

On the weekends, when Natasha is not thinking "tax", you can find her surf lifesaving, playing netball and watching the AFL. She places a keen focus on health and nutrition and has also competed in the Coolangatta Gold!

Sasha Delacretaz

Sasha joined our firm in February 2013 and has the challenging task of overseeing all aspects of the efficient running of our office ... and does a great job!

Whether it be mentoring junior staff, dealing with external parties or providing strategic input as part of the firm's management team, Sasha's calm and focused approach ensures that any task undertaken gets done in an efficient and timely manner.

By doing what she does well and taking care of those day-to-day issues that arise, this allows our team to concentrate on doing what they do well.

Sasha also has helped our clients when they need assistance with establishing new computerised accounting systems, by setting-up Xero and MYOB files and also providing training in their ongoing use.

Sasha enjoys being part of a firm that is well-known and respected in the community and which allows her the opportunity to personally develop and make a meaningful contribution to the future of the organisation.

Sasha is always striving to provide the best she can for our clients. Her professionalism and integrity are always on display when delivering results and providing peace of mind for our clients.

Outside of work, Sasha enjoys the beach, scuba-diving, displaying her creative side by painting and enjoying live music festivals.

Jo-Anne Morton

Jo originally joined our firm in January 2010, as a Client Support Officer, took Parental Leave to look after her son and recently rejoined in a part-time capacity.

Jo looks after the administration of our clients' self-managed superannuation funds, as well as assisting our senior team with clients' accounting affairs. We also rely on Jo for a quick turnaround of clients' affairs and when something needs to be done quickly, it's Jo we go to!

Jo likes that she is continually learning and has recently completed her Accounting Fundamentals course, to enable her to develop even further and assist clients to a greater extent. She enjoys the fact that she is continually pushed to excel and learn.

Honesty, friendliness and integrity are all hallmarks of Jo's dealings, which fits in well at our firm.

As you would expect, outside of work, a big part of Jo's life is her son, Austin and she also enjoys Pilates and Yoga.

Alysha Ross

Client Support Officer

Specialisations: Attending to all aspects of client support and assisting our Office Manager with administration tasks

Alysha joined our firm in February 2015, having previously worked in various administration roles, across a diverse range of industries.

Alysha is most likely the first person you speak to when you call our office or see when you visit us and therefore is the "face" of our organisation. Every day, Alysha is speaking to our clients, assisting them with general queries, as well as supporting our accountants with various tasks. Alysha also plays an important part in helping our Office Manager, Sasha, deal with the multitude of administration and management tasks that arise.

Alysha enjoys the opportunity provided to help our clients and to continually develop her experience. She also enjoys working in a supportive environment, with people who place an importance on her skills development.

Alysha enjoys playing touch football (she has competed in state and international tournaments), taking her dogs to the beach and enjoying good food and wine. She is also committed to helping those less fortunate than her and has previously undertaken a mission trip to East Malaysia, currently sponsors a child, as well as donates to various charities.
